Day one in Bonavista has been busy. We spent the morning setting up the Wandering Pavilion, which involved a kit of steel rods, custom fit canvas wrap, and eighty eight 2x4s! The pavilions came together and will be on display by the water at the Ryan Premises throughout the Bonavista Biennale. In the afternoon, we were joined by local artist, Jane Walker who stopped by to teach us how to rug hook (!) using fish nets and plastic bags. Our creation was displayed on one of the pavilions, with the fish pattern fitting in perfectly with the harbour view in the background. We ended the day with our first walking tour of the town with John Norman of Bonavista Living. We are still full of questions, but its great to finally be here and excited to dive into our 4 design questions in the coming days.
